Schlechter Farms, Inc. is continuing a family farm tradition that dates back to the early 1900's when the Schlechter family settled in the Willamette family. Starting in 1971 with wheat and clover seed, and switching in the late 1970s to corn and onions, Schlechter Farms has added plums, pumpkins, and four varieties of winter squash to the list of annual crops. Strawberries, broccoli, bush beans, celery are also grown for the non-retail market. In addition, over a dozen varieties of rhododendrons are available. During the months of August through October, fresh, high-quality garden fruits and vegetables are offered at the vegetable stand.
